Landscape Report

See exactly who else is working on this.

A landscape report maps every competing asset in your space: mechanism, stage, modality, and how each one is tracking, with your own asset placed against them. Built from five independent source scans across trial registries, publications, patents, deals and regulatory filings, and conferences, delivered as a master tracker, a strategic deck, or both.

Illustrative pipeline map: mechanism classes as columns, development phases as rows, with the client's own asset visually distinguished from competitor assets.

Illustrative sample. Every active asset is named directly; nothing is grouped into "and others."

A landscape report settles one question: who else is working on this, and where do they stand?

Before an out-licensing process, a fundraise, or a go/no-go decision, you need a real picture of the competitive field: every asset with a similar mechanism, what stage it is at, and how it compares to yours. Guessing from memory or a quick search misses assets and gets stages wrong. A landscape report is built from a structured, sourced scan instead, so the picture holds up when someone asks how you know.

What you get

A tracker, a deck, or both

Both are built from the same underlying scan, so they never disagree with each other.

Master tracker (spreadsheet)

One flat tab, sorted by development phase within each mechanism class. Your own asset pinned at the top. Eleven columns per asset:

Asset NameCompanyMechanism ClassMechanism of ActionDevelopment PhaseTherapeutic IndicationModalityRoute of AdministrationCommentsReferencesConfidence

Every row carries at least one clickable source and a confidence rating (High, Medium, or Needs Review) — never left blank.

Strategic deck (PowerPoint)

01

Pipeline Map

Every active asset in the field, grouped by mechanism class and phase, your asset visually distinguished. No blanket "and others" grouping: every asset is named.

02

Competitive Position

Where your asset sits relative to the field: differentiation, threats, and timing.

03

Clinical Evidence Landscape

What has been shown to work, and fail, across the competitive set so far.

04

Events to Watch

Upcoming readouts, PDUFA dates, trial completions, and conference presentations that could move the picture.

05

Strategic Implications

A generated strategic narrative on gaps, threats, and opportunities, flagged for your review before it goes to anyone else.

Plus deep-dive profiles on the 8 to 10 most competitively relevant assets, and a Sources & Methodology slide naming exactly what was scanned.

Cost & turnaround

Scoped to the field, confirmed up front

A crowded mechanism space takes longer to scan properly than a narrow one, and the tracker, the deck, and "both" are three different scopes. We confirm cost and turnaround once we know your space and which outputs you need.

TBC
Cost

Scoped to how crowded the mechanism space is and which outputs you need.

TBC
Turnaround

Confirmed once the scope is set — a five-scan process takes real time to run properly.

The process

A structured scan, not a quick search.

Common questions

What is a landscape report, exactly?
A structured map of every competing asset in your mechanism space: who else is working on it, what stage they are at, and how your own asset compares. Delivered as a master tracker (spreadsheet), a strategic deck, or both.
How is this different from a generic competitor list?
It is built from five independent scans, each covering a different source type: trial registries, publications, patents, deals and regulatory filings, and conferences. Every row carries a confidence rating and at least one source citation. We do not stop at one pass; a scan continues until a full additional pass finds nothing new.
What do I actually receive?
A master tracker: one flat spreadsheet, eleven columns per asset (mechanism, phase, modality, route of administration, comments, sources, and a confidence rating), sorted by development stage. Optionally, a strategic deck: a pipeline map, your competitive position, the clinical evidence landscape, upcoming events to watch, and a strategic-implications slide, plus deep-dive profiles on the most relevant 8 to 10 assets.
How do you handle data you cannot fully confirm?
Every row is rated High, Medium, or Needs Review; nothing is left blank. We would rather flag a gap than present an estimate as fact. If a mechanism class cannot be verified with confidence, we say so directly rather than paper over it.
How much does it cost, and how long does it take?
It depends on how crowded the mechanism space is and whether you want the tracker, the deck, or both. A five-scan process on a busy space takes real time to run properly; we confirm cost and turnaround once the scope is set.
Can this feed into a bigger out-licensing or fundraising process?
Yes. Knowing exactly who else is in the space is foundational to both. Our business development and licensing practice and out-licensing advisory both start from a clear competitive picture.
A landscape report is a standalone deliverable. If you want to take it further, our business development and licensing practice and out-licensing advisory pick up exactly where it leaves off.
